182 mail will start coming to the Valley Oct 5th. It will be phased in over a period of weeks. This is very good for us at the Valley. With many other plants closing, ours continues to grow. More jobs may come too. At this time no one knows how many transfers we'll get ,if any. If you are retiring soon, please stop by the Union office and fill out a retirement form. We'll put you on the list for a gold watch. Stay Strong Hurry up and wait................... 09/16/2009
Tour re-compression seems to be on the back burner. I am hopefull all vacant jobs will be posted on the 25th. We need to get our people situated before WB sends anyone here. Sweedsboro L&DC is also closing. Aproximately 200 mail handlers to be re-assigned. They are less then 100 miles from here so who knows if we'll get any. We don't know any more at this time. Count your blessings 09/05/2009
Wilkes-Barre Post Office is closing, 44 mail handlers are scrambling for jobs. Phila is excessing 81 mail handlers out to 100 miles!. Whose Post Office is it, anyway? 08/31/2009
Are we government owned? I know we’re not a private company. But sometime it seems the government doesn’t want to know us. Other times they think we’re their own personal piggy bank. But who really owns the Postal Service. The Government works for us, or at least they’re supposed to, so I guess we own it. Too bad we don’t control it. So I say with confidence, we the employees, own the Postal Service. Take that anyway you want. I take it to mean I’m working for myself, so I’d better do a good job if I want the PO to be around when I retire. While management counts the mail, we’ll deliver it. Stay Strong. Oh Boy! BUY OUT $$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$ 08/26/2009
